Intended to take place during the summer following Year 1, this program takes students out of the classroom and into real world conservation and restoration settings. It is coordinated through the Center for Environmental Biology (CEB). Careful collaboration of CEB / MCRS staff with community partners will ensure that the students are provided with an experience that enhances their professional development.
A Career Development Counselor will publish a list of internship announcements, ranging from local to international opportunities. MCRS staff will support students in securing internship positions.
While it is intended that these internship positions will be paid through the sponsoring organization, it cannot be guaranteed. For students currently employed, equivalent opportunities can be structured to develop formalized learning experiences surrounding aspects of their current job that are appropriate.
