🌎✨Celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day and the Indigenous Frameworks in Ecology Course with MCRS✨🌎
On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we are excited to highlight the Indigenous Frameworks in Ecology course offered through the Masters in Conservation and Restoration Science Program at UCI. This course provided an incredible opportunity to amplify the voices of the Acjachemen and Tongva peoples and learn directly from local stewards who carry forward their knowledge and practices of environmental care.
As part of the course, students created a StoryMap focused on Tule stewardship at the San Joaquin Marsh Reserve. Through this project, they explored the Indigenous value of Tule and researched the best method of Tule restoration at the site.
